Perform a Semi-Annual Inspection

If you are assigned to do an inspection, you will receive an e-mail notification with a link to the inspection. If you no longer have the e-mail, you can find the inspection on the IACUC Inspections page.  See following steps to open an inspection. Open the inspection and perform the following tasks:

To Open An Inspection

1. From an e-mail, click the inspection link.

2. From the General Dashboard:
a. Click IACUC on the Top Navigator then Inspections on the Sub-Navigator.
b. On the Inspections tab, click the name of the inspection to open it.

To find inspection checklists that you are to use while performing the inspection:

Inspection checklists will appear in the Documents tab for that inspection.  Print the checklist and bring that with you the morning of the inspection.

After you complete the inspection

  1. Return to the inspection in PERA and click on the inspection you were assigned.  On the inspection’s workspace, click Record Findings on the left.

To record inspection findings

  1. Click Record Findings on the left side of the inspection workspace.  In the slide in screen #1, briefly summarize your findings from the inspection.
  2. Complete the form. In the inspection documents area (#2), add your completed checklist(s).
  3. Click OK.

You can use Record Findings as often as needed to add to or change what you previously typed.
